Kindergarten and 1st Grade Students
Buses will drop children off at the VFW on Holliston Street the morning of Friday October 28th, 2022.
Students will be met by members of the McGovern School to help chaperone the walk. Parents & Siblings are welcome to join in on the walk as well! If you're a walker or drop-off you can also join us.
Please arrive at the VFW by 8:35 AM. The Medway Police Department will be on hand to help us cross the street at the VFW and then at Lovering Street. We'll stay on the sidewalk and all walk the half mile to McGovern together.
To participate we need a permission slip for each child. This will allow your child to get off the bus at the VFW and join us for the WALK TO SCHOOL. We will also need a permission slip for any student who is typically a walker/drop-off that wants to join in on the fun.
If your child will not be walking, they will stay on the bus and be dropped off at the school as usual. They'll be greeted by staff members who remain at McGovern while the rest of the school walks. Please fill out the permission slip even if your child is not participating.
Preschool Students
You will be participating in your own “Mini'' Walk to School Day! You or your child’s bus will drop them off at the top of the McGovern driveway by 8:35 AM and then the Pre-K students will walk to school as a class with their teacher. *If you plan on driving your preschooler please park on Lovering Street.
