Keeping you informed on important dates and information
First Week of Phase II of the School Reentry Plan
It was great to have students back on campus last week as we transitioned to the hybrid phase of the district’s re-entry plan. We were impressed with the way our students followed the health guidelines, adjusted to our new “foot traffic” patterns across the school, and worked with us in making the school as safe as possible during these uncertain times. We’ve often said that keeping everyone safe is a community effort, and we appreciate the collective effort of students, teachers, and parents as we welcomed everyone back.
While we are excited about how seriously and respectfully everyone has approached the health guidelines and the return to school - as you saw in the district’s announcement on Friday - at the end of last week our school community had its first confirmed positive case of COVID-19. We have been planning for this scenario during our reopening process and were able to put our plans in place to sanitize the school, inform families whose students were at risk of exposure or in close contact, and support the individuals and their families directly impacted by this situation.
We continue to keep the safety of our students, staff, and community as our top priority. Follow the link below to review the letter sent home by Dr. Maruszczak on Friday. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
IMPORTANT Reminder - Arrival At School
As a reminder, since there are limited locations for students to gather each morning in order to maintain physical distancing, we are aiming to open the school each day at 7:15am. Students should be dropped off at the traffic circle by the flagpole and the main entrance to the building or in the faculty lot adjacent to the band room.We will continue to work with our bus company to ensure that the bus pick-up times coincide with our 7:15am opening time.
For your quick reference, included below is the hybrid learning schedule for this week.

A Message From The School Nurse
National Defense University Day
Each year Nipmuc hosts a group of leaders from across the globe who are studying international relations at the National Defense University in Washington, DC. The group of visitors includes some of the world's best and brightest leaders, including representatives from more than 60 countries. As part of our partnership, they visit Nipmuc during a group visit to Massachusetts where they tour Harvard University, meet with educational leaders, and explore Boston. At Nipmuc, we provide them with a chance to see American education in action and the opportunity to shadow one of our students for the day. They always rave about the chance to meet our students! Our students commonly refer to this exciting day as “NDU Day.”
Since they are not able to travel this year, they are hosting a virtual event. We are excited to once again be a part of this experience and are thankful to our students who volunteered to join in virtually this afternoon! We are looking forward to the conversations and connections and hope to be able to welcome the fellows back to Nipmuc (in person) again next year!
