BV Schools Monthly
September Edition - Buena Vista School District
Let's Do This....It's Your Move!
Ms. Kleber captured our 7 C's and purpose this year to get busy and do it! This beautiful board reminds us WE are each responsible for our next move. Mrs. Mercer gives the reminder, too! We each get to choose our effort, our response, our decisions, our next move! Let's Do This!
MONTHLY SUPERINTENDENT LETTER
The start to the 2023-24 school year has been one to celebrate! A fireworks show, made possible from a community member's donation, helped to kick off the year with a bang, lighting up the sky with BV Schools Proud! A demon is one with exceptional enthusiasm and drive. This year we are already teaching and learning like a demon!
In this edition of the BV Monthly, check out the September letter from the Superintendent (click red button above). Sign up for the first annual Homecoming Golf Tournament. Learn about BV School's results on 2022 state testing leading to an overall district rating of ACCREDITED! Find out more about the upcoming Board of Education elections. Board of Education Election
BV Schools Board of Education will have five positions open in the November election. Candidates have filed for each of the positions. Candidate information will be available on BV Schools website on September 8.
Wellness Committee
The District is reviewing its Wellness Plan. We are looking for a few family members of students to be part of our team. The Wellness typically meets two or three times per year. This is a good way to be involved with limited time commitment.
COVID Response 2023
There is not currently a public health emergency. The district will respond to COVID diagnosis as we would for typical contagious disease. Masking is not required. Please read the Good to Knows for additional information.
Summer Facility Work
Many improvements and maintenance projects were completed this summer! Please accept the district's sincerest apologies for only having a flag available on our screen for the first home volleyball game. We honor our country and this was simply a matter of attending to many facility projects this summer. The flag will fly for all our remaining games. Please see more about our summer projects!
Homecoming Golf Tournament!
Join us for the 1st annual Homecoming Golf Tournament! Learn more and register by clicking red button above.
BV Schools and What’s in the News
Click the red button above to read about each topic.
The media and politicians are focusing much attention on public education these days. We celebrate the collective commitment to the education and wellbeing of our youth. It is a worthy dialogue for us all to engage. Unfortunately, not all that is highlighted in the news is the reality of your local schools. We welcome, invite, and encourage our families and community to contribute to the goodness of BV Schools. Our local school board is available to link to the community, the BV PEAKS (Partners Engaged Around Kids’ Success) meets regularly to exchange information about the schools, there are monthly meetings and this Monthly. Each month, we will begin sharing information about topics in public education and provide some perspective on what is happening in your local BV Schools.
