Cap Decorating Approval Deadline
Some students may opt to decorate their graduation caps. This is not a requirement. Blank caps are perfectly acceptable. Should you decide to decorate your cap, please follow the guidelines here. Students should submit a photo of their decorated cap for approval by Wednesday, May 31. Students should submit their photos to Mr. Gorman or Ms. Cook via Class of 2023 Classroom Assignment
Senior Night
7:00pm - Each spring, we have the honor of announcing local scholarship recipients and special award winners - recognizing the talents, accomplishments, and impact of our students. We are as excited to celebrate our students and say thank you to the community members and groups that are supporting our students’ journey beyond high school.
Students and parents will join in the auditorium for an evening full of celebration and reflection. We will kick off the evening with the senior awards and scholarships announced. Families and students will then watch the senior video showcase and then have time to mingle and connect with the students signing yearbooks and everyone enjoying desserts.
Thursday, June 1
9:30am Senior Class Photo
Seniors arrive at Nipmuc in their graduation caps and gowns for the Senior Class photos.
10:00am Senior Walk
Students will board buses in their caps and gowns and continue the tradition of the “Senior Walk” in which they visit their former schools and teachers to share their future plans and receive congratulations. Buses will transport students to each school in the district where students and teachers will be lined up outside each building on school grounds to cheer for our students. Students will hold signs with their names and future plans as they walk the perimeter of each school.
Friday, June 2
9:00am - Seniors should arrive at Nipmuc and plan to board the buses to depart for the Hanover Theatre for the graduation rehearsals.
10:00am - Rehearsals begin and the theatre told us to plan on a 2.5 - 3 hour rehearsal but it could be quicker depending on how the walk-through goes.
4:00pm - Any senior that is speaking, singing, or playing in the band should plan to be at the Hanover Theatre for sound check.
5:00pm - Doors open to families at the Hanover Theatre. Seniors should arrive back at the Hanover Theatre and drive with their families. Seniors will wait in another location upstairs as families arrive and find their seats.
6:00pm- Graduation

Inspired Learning Day - June 14
On June 14, we will host our next Inspired Learning Day! These days are full-day learning events where we provide learning opportunities and sessions that will tap into students’ interests and excitement.
Last week students selected their top sessions. You can review the full list of sessions here. We are excited to share that almost all students were placed in their top choice (with the exception of a few sessions that are not running due to low interest).
The next step is for students traveling off campus to get their permission slips signed and returned to the Nipmuc Main Office by Friday, June 2. Permission slips can be found at the link below, linked to an email that all students received today sharing their assigned session, or in paper form in the main office.
We are grateful for the grant support from DESE’s Deeper Learning Grant that will help to support these learning experiences for our students. We are excited to make this a fantastic day for our students!
Mastery Learning Record
As we mentioned in the meeting, work with juniors on the MLR will begin on June 12 from 12:30-2pm. Interested sophomores will begin their work in the fall.

Biology MCAS - Grade 9
Next week, Nipmuc’s freshmen will take the Biology MCAS test. We are proud of the hard work completed by students and teachers as they get ready for this assessment. The schedule for all MCAS testing is listed below.
Tuesday, June 6: Biology - Session 1
Wednesday, June 7: Biology - Session 2
Included below are a few key points for MCAS testing days:
- We will start the day for all students who are testing with a break in the cafeteria that will run from 7:30am – 7:45am. The cafeteria will be open and breakfast will be served as it is on a regular school day.
- Students should bring their fully-charged iPad with them to school as they will use it for testing.
- Testing locations will be posted in the cafeteria prior to testing dates.
- If your child is absent over the course of the testing days, we will schedule a time for your child to make up the missed session(s) upon their return.
Nipmuc Spanish Exchange Program - Seeking Host Families for the Fall
In April, Nipmuc students then traveled to León, Spain, to reconnect with their exchange partners and to experience Spanish life and culture with their peers. We are looking ahead to next year and would like to speak with both students and parents interested in being a host family. Please see the QR codes below for forms if your interested in being a part of this great opportunity. You can also email Ms. Soto at asoto@mursd.org with other questions.
