Welcome Back
Welcome back! I hope this newsletter finds you refreshed, rejuvenated, and filled with joy after a wonderful winter break! I missed each and every one of you and am thrilled to embark on the exciting journey that 2024 holds.
I cannot leave 2023 behind without thanking you all for the gifts, homemade goodies, gift cards, photo cards , self-care items, and so much more. You made me feel extra special and I appreciate you!
As we kick off 2024, I want to express my gratitude for the fantastic school year we have had thus far. Your support and involvement have truly made Goochland Elementary School a positive and thriving community.Remember, your involvement is crucial to the success of our school community.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or if there's anything we can do to further support your child's education, please don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can make 2024 a year filled with growth, learning, and wonderful memories. Remember, this is the last school year we will be in the current building. It is such a bittersweet thought!

GCPS PreSchool Programs
Goochland County Public Schools is accepting applications for preschool for the 2024-2025 school year! Goochland has preschool classrooms at each of its three elementary schools. These preschool programs are full-day programs and transportation to and from school is provided. Our preschool programs at Byrd Elementary School are for three- and four-year-olds. Our preschool programs at Randolph and Goochland Elementary Schools are for four-year-olds. You can apply for preschool using this online application. GES PTA Students of the Month
Kindergarten
Michaela is the kindest, most caring Kindergartener! She is a curious student who loves to learn. She is optimistic and is a good sport about playing games with her peers. She includes EVERYONE always. Her heart is just amazing. She is artisitc, thoughtful, aware, polite, happy and tries her best each day. I am so proud of her!
First Grade
Islay is a wonderful role model to her peers. I can always count on her to get her work done! She has shown great leadership in our first-grade class. I am especially proud of her hard work ethic and ability to think critically! She is always pushing herself to be the best she can be! She has strong problem-solving skills and she is always ready to learn. Islay is kind, courageous, trustworthy, and responsible. Islay is one smart, young lady! She can teach you about tigers, leopards, or any other big cat! I am excited to see all that you accomplish in 2024!

Josiah has been a great role model in our classroom. He listens out for directions, encourages others to follow along, and completes his assignments in a timely manner. He is very responsible about his classroom job and always willing to help others, both peers and teachers. Way to go Josiah!
