I hope you all are ready for a spooky good time at our 3rd Annual PTO Sponsored Trunk-or-Treat event! We invite all of our students, parents, and staff to join in on the festivities and make this a extraordinary event for our entire MES community.
Date: Friday, 20 October
Time: 5:00 - 7:00pm
Location: MES Parking Lot off of Popular
The PTO is in search of parent to host a trunk! Let your imagination run wild with a fun or spooky theme. Decorating trunks is a fantastic way to get involved in the school community. If you're interested in being part of the trunk decoration crew, donating candy, or working the hot dog station please sign up here: TRUNK-OR-TREAT SIGN-UP. We welcome all levels of creativity and participation!
IMPACT AID
Beginning on October 2, 2023, students will bring home our annual Impact Aid Survey. Impact Aid funding is a federal resource provided to districts with military connected students. Impact Aid accounts for approximately 30% of the District’s funding and, without it, the District could not operate. A 100% completion rate enables the District the best chance to capture the most funding for our students.
When completing the survey, it is very important to consider all family guardians as someone could meet the qualifications for Impact Aid even if you do not. You will need to complete this survey for each child in your family. For more information, please visit the Mascoutah School District Impact Aid page under Scott AFB & MSD19 at msd19.org.
Your time and commitment are greatly appreciated by the students, faculty, staff, and administration of MSD19.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We are in a friendly competition with our other schools and MES has won for the past 2 years. In order to win we need to reach 100% first, so turn your Impact Aid form in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CHECK OUT THE FLYER TO SEE THE PRIZES YOUR SCHOLAR WILL GET.

PBIS Goals
At MES we are a PBIS school which means that we provide our scholars with a school-wide behavior matrix that outlines the expectations for all the areas with in our school building. We then create goals to help our scholars remember the expectations throughout the school year. When students meet the goals that are set by the PBIS team we celebrate! There are two ways we celebrate at MES, (1) school-wide and (2) individually.
School-wide Celebration- All Students work together as a team to meet the PBIS goal for the month. For October, the goal is to have 36 or less office referrals. When they meet this goal we celebrate as an entire building; everyone gets to participate. Last month it was hat day, this month will be everyone can get an ice cream sandwich at lunch.
Individually Celebration- This is when a student is referral free for the month and those students will get another celebration for meeting that goal. In September there were snow cones and an extra recess, October it will be inflatables.
We need your help. Please ask your scholar about the PBIS goal for the month and how they are helping us to reach our monthly goals. We have met our school-wide goals for the past two months, yay! We are hoping to reach the goals every single month!!
