Nipmuc Homecoming Weekend 2022
Saturday we are in full swing with both boys and girls soccer in the morning, the football team will compete in the afternoon and the night will end with the highly anticipated homecoming dance for our students in the gymnasium from 7pm-10pm. Nipmuc Student Council has been selling homecoming dance tickets during both breaks in the cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased through tomorrow September 20. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The dress code for this event is semi-formal. Semi-formal attire can include items such as dress pants, blouse, shirt and/or tie, and dresses. Although many students will dress in semi-formal attire, students are allowed to dress in any attire that makes them most comfortable.
Students must have completed their handbook sign-off from the past few newsletters in order to purchase their ticket. Tickets are $20 each. Outside guests are allowed. Students must register their outside guests at the time of ticket purchase.
On Sunday we will wrap up our 2022 homecoming weekend with the 2022 Nipmuc Hall of Fame Induction beginning at 10:30am. For more information, you can visit the Nipmuc Hall of Fame website or email Chris Schmidt, athletic director, at cschmidt@mursd.org.

We are looking forward to hosting our guests from the National Defense University (NDU) that will be visiting Nipmuc this Thursday. The NDU is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s premier university for joint professional military education. The Chairman offers one-year fellowships to select senior officers from more than 50 nations for the International Fellows Program at NDU. The fellowship gives international military and civilian leaders the opportunity to study at either the Eisenhower School, National War College, or College of Information and Cyberspace.
These impressive leaders from across the globe visit Nipmuc each year in order to better understand what American education looks like. The international fellows will shadow our students for two blocks, including having lunch with them in the school cafeteria. Thank you in advance to all of our student volunteers that signed up to be student ambassadors that day. You will be receiving an email by tomorrow with more information.
“NDU Day” as it’s become known at Nipmuc is a highlight of the fall. By welcoming these international fellows to Nipmuc, our students have the opportunity to build relationships with the next generation of global leaders.
