"Students Today; Leaders Tomorrow!" ~January 2023
Principal's Message
"Nothing can stop me. I’m All the Way Up!" ~ Fat Joe & Remy Ma
And just like that… 2023 is here! People make declarations about something new they intend to accomplish. That is a great thing to do when upgrades to our hearts and minds are needed. But the new year does not mean we move away from our central values that make all things possible. Although the calendar change makes a new year, I welcomed students back to school with a message of continuity... STAY READY! Ready to go wherever we decide to go! Wanting to achieve success is birthed from a dedicated, deliberate, and undeterred attitude to do just that. I will not allow the detracting words and denigrating thoughts of others to limit what I believe can be accomplished! I hope the spirit of making things happen will be the contagion we all encounter in 2023!

Partying With A Purpose- Student Council Welcomes Students Back in 2023
Dr. Nock and Student Council Advisors (Ms. Lamon, Ms. Murry, Ms. Senior, and Ms. Snyder) led the cabinet members in celebrating the new school year. Dr. Nock's address focused on 'Staying Ready', emphasizing the change of the calendar year does not alter our expectations and goals for the school year. Dr. Coss played a few inspiring tunes before the new year's ball was dropped.

From the Nurse's Office...
I would like to share some important information about the spread of the FLU (influenza).
- People with the Flu can spread it to others, from up to about 6 feet away! The flu is transmitted by droplets that come out of the mouth when people cough, sneeze, or talk.
- Also, someone might get the Flu by touching a surface or object that has the Flu virus on it, and then touching their own mouth or nose.
- To avoid this, people should stay away from sick people, and stay home if they are feeling sick. If you have a fever, you need
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Do not share eating utensils and dishes with those who are sick before washing them thoroughly first with soap and hot water.
- Frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned and disinfected at home and school, especially if someone is sick.
- Children may pass the virus to others for longer than 7 days. Sometimes the symptoms start 1 to 4 days after the virus enters the body.
- Some people can be infected with the Flu but have no symptoms (asymptomatic).
