Yearbook Update
Nipmuc Welcomes National Defense University this Week.
Nipmuc will host more than 100 international fellows from the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, D.C. this Wednesday, September 20. This marks the seventh time that this group of future diplomats from across the globe will be visiting Nipmuc to get a taste of American education and have the chance to meet with and shadow American teenagers during the school day.
The National Defense University is an extension of the National War College. Students who attend this Master's program have been sent by their home countries in recognition of their potential for future diplomatic roles. Graduates of the NDU include many top diplomats and elected officials from nations across the globe. Over the course of recent years, students have built meaningful connections with this group of global leaders in an exciting exchange of cultures.
NDU visiting fellows will get to receive a briefing on American education from Mr. Clements and Mrs. Moran. Following this meeting, the fellows will shadow students in order to visit classrooms and see what life is like for an American high school student. Student ambassadors will receive an email by tomorrow with important details about that morning.
Nipmuc Open House
Parking Permits (Due by this Wednesday, September 20)
Please note that at this time only juniors and seniors are eligible for parking. We will evaluate if there are any additional spaces available after assigning parking to 11th and 12th graders. Please have your parking permit filled out, paid for and your sticker in place prior to this Wednesday, September 20. School parking will be monitored moving past that date with violations being issued for those vehicles parked and not registered. Permits will be sold throughout the school year. Please email nipmucmainoffice@mursd.org with any questions.
Academic Reset Program
In an ongoing effort to support students this year, the Academic Reset Program is returning! This program is an after-school opportunity to help students organize, complete, and make up academic work.
Who is this program for?
Students who are struggling to complete work independently at home
Students who have lagging skills in prioritization, organization, and time management
Students who don’t necessarily need content retaught to them, but who need time, space, and accountability to get their work completed
When/where does the program meet?
The program will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:05 to 3:00 in the Media Center.
Students will need to get their own transportation home.
How do students access the program?
Interested students should contact their school counselor to get more information and sign up.
Parents can also contact their child’s school counselor to make a referral.
What else should I know about this program?
This is a voluntary program for students.
This program should not take the place of students accessing teachers after school for help with specific content.
Questions? Contact Kerry Fagan (kfagan@mursd.org) or Allison Towne (atowne@mursd.org).

Meet the Voices of Nipmuc
Isabella Deligiannides
"I wanted to be the Voice of Nipmuc so that I could connect with my peers and share my voice.
It’s been a great opportunity and I can’t wait to bring some fun things to the morning announcements."
Sabrina Cassano
"I began doing the announcements at the end of freshman year just because it seemed like a fun thing to do. Something I like about being the voice of Nipmuc is that I am always on time for school."
