Nipmuc Student Handbook - Signatures Required
All students and parents/guardians are required to sign off that they have read and understand the student handbook. Please review the handbook and complete the form no later than Friday, September 16. If you have any questions you can email nipmucmainoffice@mursd.org.

Note: Students will not be allowed to purchase homecoming tickets until this form is complete.
DECA Cookout and Club & Activities Fair - This Thursday!
Students can click on the link below to learn about all the different clubs and activities available at Nipmuc prior to this event and then look for these tables on Thursday.
PSAT Registration Information
This year, we are offering the PSAT/NMSQT for sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, October 12. The PSAT is representative of the actual SAT exam in content, scope, and design. It will help students feel confident and prepared when they take the SATs later in their junior year. All sophomores and juniors are strongly encouraged to sign up for the exam. You can find more information about the PSAT, SAT, and NMSQT at www.collegeboard.org/psat.
The test takes place at Nipmuc. It begins at 7:30 am and finishes before lunch.
The cost is $20. You must submit payment in order to be officially registered. The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 16. Please contact Allison Towne (atowne@mursd.org) with any questions.

A Cappella Group - Auditions This Week!
Do you like to sing? Nipmuc's A Cappella group is holding auditions, and we hope you'll consider joining! All students in grades 9-12 are invited to audition. Auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 15 after school - visit Room 300 to learn more and sign up for your audition. Contact Ms. Simmonds with any questions.
A Cappella meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:30pm.
Spirit Week September 19-23
Nipmuc Homecoming Weekend 2022
Saturday we are in full swing with both boys and girls soccer in the morning, the football team will compete in the afternoon and the night will end with the highly anticipated homecoming dance for our students in the gymnasium from 7pm-10pm. Nipmuc Student Council has been selling homecoming dance tickets during both breaks in the cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased now through September 20. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Students must have completed their handbook sign-off (see at the top of this newsletter) in order to purchase their ticket. Tickets are $20 each. Outside guests are allowed. Students must register their outside guests at the time of ticket purchase.
On Sunday we will wrap up our 2022 homecoming weekend with the 2022 Nipmuc Hall of Fame Induction beginning at 10:30am. For more information, you can visit the Nipmuc Hall of Fame website or email Chris Schmidt, athletic director, at cschmidt@mursd.org.
Picture Day
Nipmuc Open House
Nipmuc Open House will take place on September 29 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The open house is a great way to meet your students different teachers, ask questions about the upcoming year and learn about expectations. You will also receive information about some exciting dates ahead for events taking place at Nipmuc. We look forward to seeing parents and guardians walking the halls of Nipmuc this year as we look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
Nipmuc Art Society Calendars
The 2022-23 Nipmuc Art Society Wall Calendars are now available.
These calendars run from September 2022 - August 2023 and include important district dates. Each month it is decorated with artwork created by Nipmuc student-artists. The cost is $15 and all proceeds go toward the Nipmuc Art Society Scholarship Fund. To place an order please email Kevin Campbell at kcampbell@mursd.org. You can make checks payable to MURSD and send them in with your student and have them see Mr. Campbell in Room #117.

Music Department Seeking Guitars
Consent for Symptomatic COVID-19 Testing
MURSD can provide a rapid antigen test to students who develop COVID-19 symptoms during the school day. If you would like to sign your child up for this program, please click on this link. Please fill out one form for each child you have at Nipmuc Regional High School. The SEPAC board met over the summer and we are all so excited to continue to grow SEPAC this year and work towards having a positive impact on special education programs in our district. Student Service Project - Tribute Stone Garden
On behalf of the work of Nipmuc student, Lauren Scott, we wanted to share the following information.
Each year, Project 351 runs a service project to honor and remember the lives lost on 9/11, military heroes, and first responders. This year, she is working with the other ambassadors and alumni from Mendon and Upton to run a 9/11 service project and is looking for your help! Check out the image below to learn more.
