Freshman, New Student, and Parent Orientation
We are excited to welcome freshmen and new students to Nipmuc Regional High School! To help prepare for the fall, we will be hosting an orientation for all incoming freshmen and new students on August 24 from 5pm - 6:30pm. With help from our student council, we’ll host a session that will answer questions about Nipmuc, introduce students and parents to the building, give students the chance to follow their schedule, and help everyone excited about high school!
Parents and students are welcome (but not required) to attend. Our session will end with pizza and ice cream for all attendees.
If you do not yet have your class schedule and are interested in finalizing your classes, feel free to reach out to Ms. Jennifer O'Brien (jobrien@mursd.org), School Counseling Administrative Assistant, to set up an appointment to meet with your school counselor.
We hope to see you on August 24th!
iPad Distribution
If you have an existing iPad and have any questions, you can fill out a helpdesk ticket from the helpdesk app on your iPad, or email the helpdesk at helpdesk@mursd.org.
Fabulous First Days of School!
We're thrilled to welcome everyone back to school on Wednesday, 8/30! In order to help with the transition back to school, we'll run a different schedule for the first two days (see below). Over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, all classes meet one time. There will be advisory sessions, class meetings, a school-wide picnic, and activities. We're looking forward to having everyone back to Nipmuc!
School-wide Picnic
Get your iPad charged and ready!
The first steps that students can take to get ready is to get your iPads charged and ready for the first days of school. We'll be looking for help from students and families in making this a smooth transition. Building a routine to charge the iPads is a good first step toward a positive start to the year.
2023-2024 Student Schedules
Students, when logging into PowerSchool you will be prompted to create a new password. (Note: You cannot use your previous password). If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Liz Black at eblack@mursd.org.
Parking Permits
Please note that at this time only juniors and seniors are eligible for parking. We will evaluate if there are any additional spaces available after assigning parking to 11th and 12th graders.
Photography and Military/Higher Ed Opt Out Forms
Military & Higher Ed Opt-Out: A Federal Law, commonly known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), provides that any school that receives Federal funds under this Act, such as Nipmuc Regional High School, "shall provide, on request made by the military recruiters or an institution of higher education, access to secondary school students' names, addresses, and telephone listings", Sec. 9528 (a).
The Act further provides that "a secondary school student or the parent of the student may request that the student's name, address and telephone listing described in the above paragraph not be released without prior written parental consent."
Guardians who DO NOT want their student's information shared should complete this form.
Bus Schedule
School Meals and Snacks
If students would like to purchase a second lunch after receiving their free lunch they can do so. Additional entrees can be purchased for $1.50. Please be aware that students who have access to free and reduced lunch will incur the same charge of $1.50 for additional entrees. Additional entrees will be based on availability.
We will also be selling snacks this year! These will include such items as chips or crackers, fruit, granola bars, etc. These will be sold during lunches. Prices will vary based on the snack item. We will be selling small and large waters this year and hope to add on flavored carbonated waters as well.
We are pleased to add some more variety of food options for our students to take advantage of and we thank our food service team for all they do as we begin another school year!
Supply Lists for the Upcoming School Year
It is recommended that all students attend the first day of school with a notebook, pen/pencil, and folder. Teachers will share any class-specific supply requests during the first days of school.
If families need assistance in purchasing a backpack or school supplies for your student please contact Mrs. Savickas and Mrs. Schmidt in the main office at nipmucmainoffice@mursd.org.
